Welcome to Magical March!
Let us begin our month-long challenge to read the enchanting side of literature and fiction!
My Personal Goal is to read (and review) four or five magical-themed books this month. I’m starting today with The Crystal Cave by Mary Stewart, which is the first in her Arthurian/Merlin trilogy. I plan to read all three in this series, as well as Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones (recommended to me by Amanda) and The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman.
What do you need to know?
Event Dates: March 1st – March 31st
Sign-Up Closes: March 4th at 11:00pm CST
To Do: Read & Review as many “magical books” as you can, in one month.

To read and review works of Fantasy, Science-Fiction, or Magical Realism (for my literary folks).

Given my blog’s typical literary focus, this sounds like it shouldn’t be too difficult for me to participate in. Plus I’m interested to see what other people will end up reading and reviewing!
Sweet! Glad you’re joining us!
I’ve never really considered reading any Arthurian-inspired fantasy, but given my fondness for the legends, I’m not sure why! I heartily second Amanda’s recommendation of Howl’s Moving Castle. I also really enjoyed the other two Howl books, although I know not everyone shares my enthusiasm.
Already diving into one of my challenge books! I’ve been really looking forward to this challenge!
Yes! I’m about 10% into my first one as well.

Ooh, I read The Crystal Cave back in my freshman year of high school and really loved it! I never got to read further in the series, but I do want to go back and revisit (and finish) one day!
I’m definitely enjoying it! Got through 100 pages in the first day (and this on a work day). I’m sure I’ll finish this one and start the next one over the weekend. Love me some good Merlin/Arthurian Legend!
